Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, a member organization of Partners Continuing Care within the
Partners Healthcare System, is home to the
Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Our highly regarded programs in medical education are a primary factor in the ranking of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital among the top ten rehabilitation hospitals in the United States for more than a decade. They are the
PM&R Residency Program and the Fellowship Programs in Pain Management, Spinal Cord Injury (a
joint program with the Veterans Administration, and
Sports Medicine. We are currently planning additional fellowships and they will be posted as they are introduced.
As a complement to our principal PM&R programs, the hospital also educates medical students through a
clerkship, and, as resources allow, trains post residency fellows in disciplines such as stroke, pain management, neurorehabilitation, and pediatric rehabilitation.
More than 400 health care students from nearby institutions participate annually in internship programs in nursing, speech-language pathology, physical and occupational therapy, and related disciplines. We also offer continuing education programs, workshops, and symposia for healthcare professionals and a
community lecture series.
